A two pack pre-treatment or etching primer formulated to be free of zinc chromate. Suitable for air drying or stoving onto steel, aluminium or galvanised substrates. Can be overcoated with most air drying or stoving top coats.

Possesses short term corrosion inhibiting properties. Chromate free.

Coverage: Approximately 20m² per litre @ 5 μ DFT. Coverage can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.

Compliance: Complies with "the VOC in Paints, Varnishes & Vehicle Refinishing Products Regulations 2005". EU limit value for this product (cat A/j): 500g / litre (2010)

Hard Dry@ 20ºC: 15 minutes. Drying times will be extended at low temperatures . Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 3ºC or relative humidity exceeds 90%.

Stoving Schedule: Do 15 minutes @ 85-100ºC

Dry Film Thickness: 5 - 10 μ,

Wet Film Thickness: 50 -100 μ,

Coverage: Approximately 20m² per litre @ 5 μ DFT. Coverage can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.

Flash Point: 10ºC

VOC Content (as supplied): Max 675g / litre

Pot Life @ 20ºC:
8 hours when mixed. The times stated show effective life, however, material stays liquid much longer but does not perform satisfactorily. Do not use after stated times. The pot life will be significantly reduced where the mixed paint is used at higher ambient temperatures.

Thinners:
Firwood 115 Thinners

Packaging: Pack Size : 10 litre composite packs consisting of base component - 5 litres of Firwood 176 + acid component - 5 Litres of Firwood 396.

Mixing: 1:1 by volume of base to acid component.

Directions for Use: All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from grease, rust, millscale, etc.

The primer base component should be well mixed and then the acid component should be added and mixed in the correct proportion.

Apply in the normal manner ensuring that all areas are completely covered.

Apply further coats of paint as necessary
