An economical, fast drying universal primer or undercoat. Available in a range of shades to complement our fast drying top coat ranges.

Suitable for use on ferrous metal surfaces or pre-treated non-ferrous metal surfaces. Will provide short to medium term protection of 3-12 months, depending on surface preparation and film thickness. Developed for industrial and workshop applications. Not for use as a building paint for in situ application.

Application Methods:   Conventional Spray, Airless Spray, Electrostatic Spray (adjustment may be required) and Brush

Colour Availability:   White, Broken White, Medium Yellow, Red Oxide, Light Grey and Black

Pack Size:   5 & 20 litres (dependant on colour)

Drying Time @ 20ºC:   Drying times will be extended at low temperatures . Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 5ºC or relative humidity exceeds 90%.

Surface dry @ 20ºC :   15 minutes

Hard Dry@ 20ºC:   1 hour

Over Coat@ 20ºC:   Between 1 – 2 hours or after 10 hours of application.

Dry Film Thickness:   15 -35 μ

Wet Film Thickness:   40 -100 μ

Coverage:   Approximately 14m² per litre at 25 μ DFT. Coverage can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.

Flash Point:  25ºC

VOC Content (as supplied):   Max 590g / litre

Storage:   Store in temperature range 5-40ºC

Thinners:   Firwood 113 Thinners

Directions for Use:     Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease, millscale, etc. Stir well before use.

One or more coats should be applied depending on degree of protection required using brush or spray application

For galvanised or non-ferrous metals, we recommend the use of a suitable etch primer such as Firwood 90 Rapid Dry Chromate Free Etch Primer.

Clean application equipment immediately after use with Firwood 113 Thinners
