A high build, anti-corrosive ferrous metal primer for maintenance and new build applications. Intended for application to steel, shot blasted to Sa2½ standard.

This coating affords excellent protection against corrosion and is typically part of a multi-coat paint system.

  • Provides an excellent anti-corrosive base as part of a multi-coat system with decorative undercoats and finishes.
  • Low odour solvent borne product
  • Easy application by brush, roller or spray gun
  • Practical for in situ application while maintaining steelwork
  • Contains zinc phosphate anti-corrosive pigments
Coverage: Approximately 6m² per litre at 75μ DFT (coverage rate can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.

Drying Time @ 20ºC: Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 5ºC or relative humidity exceeds 90%.

Surface dry @ 20ºC : 3 hours

Hard Dry@ 20ºC: 24 hours

Dry Film Thickness: 50 -100 μ

Wet Film Thickness: 120 -240 μ

Directions for Use: Ensure the surface to be coated is clean, dry and free from grease rust and millscale.

Apply in dry conditions where precipitation is not expected during the application and drying time of the coating.

Stir well before use.

Apply by brush, spray or roller to the recommended dry film thickness. Clean application equipment immediately after use with Firwood 114 Thinners.

For galvanised or non-ferrous metals, we recommend the use of a suitable etch primer such as Firwood 90 Rapid Dry Chromate Free Etch Primer.
