Following the controversial recall of Kania Gravy Granules from Lidl Stores after they were discovered to have been contaminated with xylene, we wanted to reassure our customers that they won't find gravy in our Xylene.
Xylene is a colourless, flammable liquid with a sweet odour that exists in three forms; meta-xylene, ortho-xylene and para-xylene. The three different forms are known as isomers. It is typically used as a solvent, a cleaning agent, and a paint thinner. Paints are usually supplied ready to use and thinners are normally required for the cleaning of application equipment only.
We provide a selection of paint thinners which are designed for use across our range of paints.
Firwood 113 Thinners xylene based thinner is a low odour solvent for the thinning of decorative paints and the cleaning of related application equipment.
Firwood 114 Low Odour Thinners are specially formulated for areas where the smell of the paint needs to be as minimal as possible, such as schools or other public buildings.
Firwood 143 Thinner is recommended for use with Firwood 40 Chemical Resistant Anti-Slip Floor Paint, Firwood 94 Single Pack Epoxy Gloss and Firwood 251 Line Marking Paint.
Firwood 67 Thinner Mixed Aromatic Hydrocarbons. This thinner is primarily for use with our Firwood two pack epoxy based range of performance coatings.
Please note that if a minor adjustment of the coating is required for application of the product this should not exceed 5-10% by volume. The use of thinners may compromise the compliance of the coating with EC legislation on the VOC content of paints.
We always recommend reading the Technical Data Information and Material Safety Data Sheet prior to using any of our products. These can be downloaded for the 'Download' tab in the information section on the product page.
