will be restricted by the guidance detailed in this policy.

objective is to give you the information that you need and we will act within
current legislation and aim to meet current best practice in the use of data
received on our web site.

you can review your personal information at any time to ensure it is correct
and accurate. You are able to update, amend or delete any inaccurate details.
Trade account customers are unable to amend their billing address on line and

websales@firwood.co.uk
Cookies
- When you visit our site a cookie may be downloaded onto your computer. This
will collect information identifying your computer, where you have visited on
our web site and for how long. This information is used for assessing the effectiveness
of our web site and to provide a better service to our customers. Users may
select from their browser security settings to reject cookies however this will
limit access to some areas of our web site. The use of cookies is common practice
for web sites.
Security
- We have taken all appropriate measures to ensure the safety of personal information.
However, no information transferred over the internet can be guaranteed to be
completely secure. We employ various security measures to protect such data
from unauthorised access by users both inside and outside the company.
Secure Online Payments - Your browser will
go into secure mode as soon as you access the payment pages
i.e. before you enter any personal payment details. You can
check that you are shopping in a secure environment by looking
for either a locked padlock or a key icon in the grey bar
at the bottom of your screen. Being in 'secure mode' means
that all of your details are encrypted to help keep them secure.
Encryption creates billions of code combinations to protect
each transaction made on our site, so your card details cannot
be viewed by anyone else using the Internet. If you are using
one of the more recent browser versions, our site supports
128 bit encryption and therefore keeps your details as safe
as possible at all times. We only accept orders that are placed
using Secure Socket Layer (SSL). This technology prevents
you from inadvertently revealing personal information using
an insecure connection. During payment, we also ask for your
card billing address as an additional security check. No credit
or debit card details are stored once your order has been
processed. This is why you can save your delivery address
but need to enter your card details each time you order. We
recommend that you always close down your Internet Browser
when you have finished ordering online especially if you use
a shared PC. We recommend that you disable Shared Form Information
functionality in browsers as this will record your credit
card information on the PC. If you have any further concerns
about security, please email websales@firwood.co.uk
or call our customer service team on 01204 525231. Our customer
service helpline is staffed from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday
to Friday excluding public holidays.
Protection
of Personal Details Online - You may have seen in the press that some
customers of banks and online businesses have been receiving fraudulent emails
and/or pop-ups. These all have one thing in common: they request individuals
to confirm their personal details, credit card details, or user name and password.
Please note that Firwood Paints will NEVER ask you for
these details by email or via pop-ups. If you suspect you
have received such a request in relation to an order you have placed or any
of your details registered on the Firwood web site, please DO NOT reply to it
and contact us as soon as possible.
If you have any questions
regarding this policy or wish to have information regarding your registration
with Firwood Paints Ltd deleted from our records then please e mail websales@firwood.co.uk
